Because we aren't busy enough at Christmastime
We decided to plan a tea party. For fifteen little girls.
It's going to be the real deal, with china cups and doll companions, and various sweets and cakes and sandwiches, etc.
At least, that's the plan.
So we are whipping this thing together now. And while it's a time-eater, look how happy Ada is about the idea.
Here she is in front of a tea tableau I composed. Now if only the rest of my house looked so orderly...

Sooo cute! I love that idea! We did one once and my only words of advice is make lots of food that can be prepped the day before. Can't wait for an update on how it went!
A tea party with little cakes and cookies and dressing up and everything? How sweet! There is a tea room very near my home... the guys aren't much into it, but I use any excuse to gather girls there. Have a little Lady Earl Grey for me. :)
Delightful! Our Girl Scout troop just attended a Victorian Christmas Tea, and it was fabulous.

Paula:
Thank you for the advice. I am planning to start the cookie and cake baking tomorrow, then the last minute stuff on Friday night and Saturday pm. It's turning into a real event.
Irene, if you feel like making a trip, you are always welcome! And thanks for reminding me of Lady Grey--an old favorite I'd forgotten.
Sandra:
A Victorian tea sounds amazing--but I have no idea where to start with one. We're hoping just to give the girls their own cups, let them try some new sandwiches and old favorite cookies, and then make some craft with felt ornaments. I'm eager to see your site--I'll be visiting later today.

If I ever have a daughter, I will absolutely do this. How sweet and fun!
